multidec®-threadmill – WHN thread mill

New WHN multi-teeth partial profile thrade mill with multiple cutting edges.

The multidec®-THREADMILL product line is complemented by the new WHN thread mill, a solid carbide tool used to produce a metric thread with a partial profile, a row of teeth and a high number of cutting edges. With the WHM thread-mill, we offer as well a thread-mill as a variant with full-profile.

Advantages:

  • For threads from M1 to M5 (pitch 0.25–0.80)

  • Long tool service life thanks to an improved geometry

  • More feed due to the high number of teeth (4 to 6 teeth)

  • Possibility to vary the thread pitch

  • Working direction from inside to outside (axial)

  • A flat-conical transition for a greater stability

 

Tool testing – WHN thread mill compared to a standard thread mill

Baseline:

  • Dimensions: M1.8 × 0.2; thread depth 3.5 mm

  • Machine: sliding headstock lathe Star SR 20; cooling: oil

  • Material: Titanium grade 5

Significant increase in efficiency, flexibility and productivity with, at the same time, a very good surface quality of the thread, thanks to the targeted optimisation of the product for this application.
